Apartment Tour: My office/studio!

One of my favorite things about our new apartment is that I finally have a room dedicated to work and crafting! It’s my happy place, though I’m still quite fond of sitting on the couch and pecking away at the computer. Enjoy our little tour, which continues today with my office/craft studio. Where do you like to create? Leave a comment below :)

Welcome!

Please come in, take a seat, grab a marker and start sketching something, why don’t cha?

This is where I work and play, make messes and magic and listen to Pandora endlessly.

Notes:

We “made” my epic desk of sorts by pushing two desks together. Also, the print is from World Market and I adore that thing. Somehow it always matches a room nicely. And you know you’re really succeeding in the world when your degree is on the ground and not hanging on a wall, for all to marvel at your intelligence.

I purchased these silhouette prints of BBC’s Watson and Sherlock from Fab.com.

P.S. If you’re looking for a new show to get addicted to, we highly recommend Sherlock. Both seasons are on Netflix!

I talked about these chalkboard decals in my last apartment tour post. Each week I write down 6-8 thinks to work on that week and I find it highly effective in helping me stay on track!

And yes, I know I put finish resume twice. Duplicating bullet points on to-do lists is a talent of mine.

In the opposite corner we have Shelton’s L desk. Most days I sit here, on my laptop with music playing on his computer, facing out the window. What is it about natural light that just soothes the soul? I don’t know, but it’s necessary for me to feel refreshed while constantly typing emails to clients. Or browsing Pinterest.

I must really have my priorities in line, huh? ;)

Thanks for stopping by! Let me know what you think by leaving a comment below!

  1. Nice! My desk is in the basement rec room with a tiny window overhead that’s at ground level outside. The window is so ugly I had to put a paper curtain thingy on it so you can see it–but light filters in. My craft stuff is in the finished laundry room which has a better window (walkout basement there) but is always overflowing with mending, blankets I can’t seem to put away and forgotten craft projects.

Me either! I have so many half-finished projects laying around that sometimes I don’t even know where to start :) Having a room to throw it all in does help though, at least visually or when guests come over. Then I feel like it’s okay for the craft room to be a mess… because, hey, crafting is messy! :) Thank you so much for your comment!

  2. Love the craft room…make me wanna go out and get a new desk and redo mine….it is a mess between a office, mail room, ironing room and craft room…lol…well you have done your job got me motivated, that is gonna be my goal by April…my birthday maybe i can talk a desk out of some one…lol

  3. by the way LOVE those silhouettes!!
