This project only takes 15 minutes.
Something tells me that I may have your attention now. Even those of you out there who deem yourself un-creative. Just know that I don’t believe you – I think that everyone is creative in their own right. The end.
Okay! So, super simple project to liven up your Tuesday. All you need is a spiral, scissors, and decorative tape. My sister sent me this roll of cupcake packaging tape, but you can find loads more at craft stores. Plus, snazzy Duct tape is still all the rage – I feel like it’s everywhere. You can use that instead if you like.
I scored this Martha Stewart spiral from Staples for a DOLLAR. No lie. I didn’t know anything that Martha Stewart ever put her name on would go for a buck. Original price? $6.99. I love a good deal.
Rip off a pretty long strip. You want it to hang 1/2″ – 1″ off of each end of the spiral. Fold the ends inside.
Repeat. Just to be interesting, I had the cupcakes go the opposite way and then reversed it. I think it adds a little something to the overall design.
Keep going until you get to the end of the cover. Chances are that your last piece of tape isn’t going to hit the edge of the cover perfectly. IT’S FINE.
Open up the cover so that this is your view. Fold in the last strip.
Now, wherever the ends of that last strip folded over, cut them off but leave the remaining sticky part (shown above).
Then fold it down to match the rest!
Boom! 15 minutes and you’ve got a cute, personalized spiral to fill up with all kinds of good stuff!
My current spiral still has like 10 pages left in it… I am so tempted to just start using this one. The cupcakes are calling me!
But then again, they always do.
