Hot Foil Stamping Machine

I have a new toy in my arsenal, and boy, is it a dinosaur. My grandmother has had her own little business stamping napkins and note cards for many years now – it’s something I loved to help her with when I was younger. She has a couple stamping machines she uses to personalize items, and this is one of them. Over Christmas she passed it along to me to mess with, and I am excited to start creating things myself.

Oh, except I have no idea how to use it. There’s that.

But I’m sure the Internet will serve me well, as it always does. Till then, here are some shots of the machine. You plug it up and it uses heat to stamp through foil (different colors shown below) onto a number of surfaces (mainly paper, though we did stamp many pencils and ribbon over the years). Pretty awesome, huh?

  2. Wow, I’m so jealous! It’s sort of like letterpress it seems in that you set the type like a letterpress. I’d love to learn how to do something like this. You’ll have to let us know how it goes!
